My Plantcentric Journey

The last post I wrote about a celebrity announcing to the world they had gone on a vegan diet to try to get better was Larry Hagman, of ‘Dallas’ fame.  My question was:  Why wait until you get sick to eat vegan?  Maybe eating plant-based would help you not fall ill in the first place.

I’m wondering if Jack Osborne will be next.  The son of Ozzy and Sharon Osborne recently announced that he has MS, Multiple Sclerosis.  Sharon was just beside herself announcing it on The Talk yesterday.  I was so moved watching her.

“He’s now beginning medication and adopting a healthier diet regimen to help reduce symptoms of the disease, which attacks the brain and spinal cord and can affect vision, movement and cognition,”  according to People.com  http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20605555,00.html

His father, Ozzy, is already a vegan after watching Forks Over Knives. http://www.cleveland.com/taste/index.ssf/2011/11/veganism_has_some_stylish_new.html

Then, while reading the July/August 2012 issue of VegNews, I saw “20% improvement in quality of life found in a study of multiple sclerosis patients following a program including a plant-based diet, exercise, exposure to sunlight, and stress-reduction techniques.”

I’m waiting for the announcement.
